Description

About Westgate

Westgate is a leading American lighting brand built on three promises: the most comprehensive product line in the industry — covering virtually every commercial, industrial, outdoor, and decorative application from a single source; the most innovative pipeline, bringing new technology to market faster than the competition; and being the easiest company to do business with, from quoting and lead times to support and service. All of it backed by the dependability our name is built on.

We go to market the way the lighting industry works: through authorized lighting distributors, lighting showrooms, with demand driven by independent lighting rep agencies and won at the specification level with engineers, designers, and contractors. We're on an aggressive growth trajectory toward becoming one of the top names in the category.

The Opportunity

We're standing up a dedicated South Region — a multi-state territory that ranks among our highest-potential lighting markets. This is a newly created seat with full ownership of the region's revenue, rep agency network, and distributor and specifier relationships, on par with our West and East regional heads and reporting directly to the CEO.

You'll inherit an established book of business and a clear runway: reactivate lapsed distributor and project accounts, win specs by efficacy and value and build the existing rep coverage to take the South to its next level. For a lighting professional who knows this channel cold, it's a rare chance to own and shape a region.

Responsibilities

  1. Own the South Region revenue number and the lighting sales strategy to hit it.
  2. Manage, coach, and develop the independent lighting rep agency network across the territory — and restructure agency coverage as growth demands.
  3. Drive pull-through demand through lighting distributors, and showrooms.
  4. Win at the spec level: partner with lighting designers, electrical engineers, ESCOs, and contractors to get Westgate written into projects.
  5. Reactivate dormant distributor and project accounts and convert competitive business with head-to-head spec comparisons on efficacy, DLC tier, and rebate eligibility.
  6. Sell on value, not just price — utility rebate programs (DLC V6.0 Premium), energy-code compliance (ASHRAE 90.1), and total cost of ownership.
  7. Lead distributor trainings, lunch-and-learns, and product rollouts for the 2026 launches.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. 7+ years in lighting sales — manufacturer, rep agency, or distributor side — with multi-state territory ownership.
  2. Proven success managing or working through independent lighting rep agencies in a channel model.
  3. Strong relationships with lighting distributors, showrooms, and specifiers across the South — or a demonstrated ability to build them fast.
  4. Working fluency in LED fixture performance: efficacy (lm/W), photometrics, DLC and DLC Premium listings, utility rebate programs, and energy codes (ASHRAE 90.1, IES standards).
  5. Experience selling commercial and industrial fixtures (high bay, troffers, wall packs, area/flood) into real projects.
  6. A track record of recovering lapsed accounts and converting competitive specs.
  7. Decorative, or showroom lighting channel experience is a strong plus; lighting controls familiarity is a must.
  8. Comfortable spending roughly 75% of your time on the road within your home state and surrounding region.

Pay & Benefits

  1. 401(k)
  2. Health insurance
  3. Paid time off
  4. Vision insurance

Lighting Technical Data & Compliance Clerk

Vernon CA
Full TimeOn-site

This role exists at the intersection of product development and technical execution. When a new product is approved and enters our PLM/PDM system, this person takes it the rest of the way — gathering every specification, securing every certification, and making sure the SKU is complete, correct, and ready to sell. The same standard applies to our existing catalog: no outdated, incomplete, or uncertified product leaves our systems unchecked. You'll need a working knowledge of photometric data and LED lighting fundamentals, an obsessive attention to detail, and the discipline to manage a high volume of concurrent SKUs across multiple stages of completion. If chasing down a missing lumen value or a lapsed DLC listing gives you satisfaction rather than frustration, this role is for you.
