1: How is this installed on an exterior wall mount light fixture? Is the box visible or is it installed behind the wall backplate?
The PC-B is a button photocell. It is normally installed through a 1/2" knockout or 1/2" weatherproof box outlet, with only the photocell button/sensor portion exposed outside. The electrical box or wiring compartment should be behind the fixture backplate or inside the wall box, depending on the fixture installation.
So the box should not be visibly mounted on the outside unless the fixture or wall condition requires an external weatherproof box. The photocell needs to face outward so it can detect daylight properly.
